If you fancy a 20 minute drive, you might consider restaurants at the small but beautiful fishing harbour of Portpatrick, looking towards Ireland, with its promenade, small beach, gift shops, lighthouse and cliff walks.
Portpatrick promenade postcode is DG9 8SX, we are DG9 8QU
There are several good restaurants and places for pub meals along the promenade, with outside tables and chairs for nicer weather, such as The Crown, Harbour House and Waterfront.
Connors (formerly Campbells) Restaurant (closed Monday) is arguably the best seafood restaurant in a wide area, and would probably need reservation (01776 810314), although you can sometimes call in early evening and be seated without.
