■■■ The scale, style & quality of a Hotel, the price of a Guest House. ■■■

Rhins of Galloway sits by the A77 in an acre and a half of lawned gardens, 20 yards from a shingle beach, and overlooking Loch Ryan. We offer quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation within a hotel setting (since we do not have a licensed bar, and our evening meals are only by prior arrangement, we are defined as a Guest House rather than a Hotel, and consequently charge only Guest House prices).

Just 1 mile south of Cairnryan ferry terminal, and only 4 miles north of Stranraer terminal, we are perfectly placed for travel with both P&O and Stena Line (our Location_maps page shows the placement between Cairnryan and Stranraer).  The short distance to either is along the main A77 coastal road, enjoying spectacular views along the way.

Opened by Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester in 1943, the building itself has had a variety of uses, boasting a history that can make a place feel very unique and special.

Rhins of Galloway has been under current ownership since May 2004, and although it has the scale and design that is expected of most hotels, it offers the friendliness and prices that are more usually associated with a quality Guest House or B&B.

Bedrooms are decorated with classic simplicity using contemporary furniture, whilst the bedroom corridors and other communal areas provide a mix of antiques and modern design.

We have a large car parking area within the grounds (large vehicles/trailers requiring non-standard parking spaces must be pre-arranged).

Although all accommodation is on the ground floor, there are several steps up to the main hotel, and a single step into the flat. The flat is not equipped for disabled use, but it has been used by wheelchair users, and was said to be ideal.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge for laptop users in the main hotel.

The entire building (main hotel and flat) is strictly non-smoking.

Although not allowed within the main hotel, house-trained pets are very welcome in the Garden Flat by prior arrangement.
